Clearly, golf is big in Fife and there are more than 40 courses, including
the famous Old Course in St Andrews. Other interesting courses near the Bothy are
Kingsbarns, Crail, Ladybank and Kingarrock, where you can play using old wooden
shafted clubs. Explore the many other historic, characterful courses near the Bothy

The Open Championships will be held in St Andrews from 16 to 19 July 2015 – book

If you enjoy cycling or walking Fife has lots to offer. There’s an extensive network
of cycle routes and the 117 mile Fife Coastal Path, along with many other hill and
seaside walks. Check out: www.fifedirect.org.uk/fife-cycleways

Water sports, abseiling and climbing, land yachting and many other outdoor pursuits

Food
Fife is food heaven and some of Scotland’s best restaurants are here, including
two with Michelin stars, the Peat Inn at Peat Inn and Sangsters in Elie. Among our
favourites are the Seafood Restaurant in St Andrews and 16 West End in St Monans,
both specialising in fish. There are three good pubs serving food within easy driving
distance of the Bothy – The Tavern at Strathkinness (2 miles), Meldrums in Ceres
(5 miles) and the Kingarrock at Craigrothie (6 miles). Cafes and farm shops are
everywhere, not surprising given Fife’s reputation for excellent produce.
